The Director General for Planning and Coordination is composed of 3 officers and 1 team. The Director General establishes & coordinates the major statistical work plans, plans the budgets, coordinates budget enforcement, coordinates work of the National Assembly, coordinates & supports the innovation of business procedures and organizational culture, manages the organization of the Statistics Korea and its staff members through diagnosing and evaluating the organization, coordinates international cooperation, coordinates the evaluation of government businesses and coordinates work related to authoritative agencies.

Main Responsibility
- Coordinating and managing major policy tasks
- Managing President's instructions and national projects
- Establishing and coordinating the mid-term financial plans
- Planning the budgets and coordinating budget enforcements
- Responding to regular and provisional sessions of the National Assembly and drawing up reports to policy-related inquiries
- Coordinating works related to parliamentary inspections and drawing up reports
- Coordinating the management of the quality of policies
- Coordinating and improving employment position works of Statistics Korea
- Establishing and coordinating strategic plans for performance management
- Coordinating the evaluation of government businesses
- Operating the performance management system for financial affairs
- Coordinating the extra works not managed by other officers
