Statistics Policy Bureau
The Statistics Policy Bureau is composed of 5 divisions. The Bureau establishes & operates the mid and long-term national statistics development plans, designates & advises the major statistical institutions, establishes & operates the Statistics-based Policy Management System, plans & carries out the national statistics quality management, and establishes the statistical standards.

Main Responsibility
- Establishing the standards for surveys
- Defining and disseminating statistical terms
- Establishing, revising, and supporting the use of various economic classifications including the Korean Standard Industrial Classification
- Establishing, revising, and supporting the use of various social classifications including the Korean Standard Classification of Occupations
- Establishing, revising, and supporting the use of various health classifications including the Korean Classification of Diseases and Causes of Death
